About SIQA
Hi, I’m Gillian!
I founded SIQA in 2025 to drive national strategies and move towards the vision I truely believe in. With a varied background across international jurisdictions, public and private sectors, clinical practice, quality management and digital transformation, I have built my career around
supporting organisations to better understand and strengthen their governance systems to enhance service user outcomes.
My diverse clinical and operational background has provided me with a strong understanding of how different parts of healthcare systems connect and where the real challenges to quality, safety, and service delivery often lie. Having worked across a wide range of disciplines, including:
★Maritime Medicine
★Major Trauma ★Emergency Medicine ★Acute Medicine ★Minor Injuries ★Surgical Care ★Radiology ★Pharmacy ★GP ★ Laboratory Management ★Public Health, I bring a practical, system-wide perspective to governance, compliance, risk management, and service improvement.
Over the years, I have seen how gaps in governance and communication
can create unseen barriers and impact service outcomes. For this reason, I focus on enabling organisations to maximise the value of their existing systems through evidence-informed design and architecture. By embedding compliance into routine processes and workflows, organisations can create sustainable pathways that promote best practice, reinforce positive behaviours, and deliver measurable improvements in quality, safety, and performance.
My passion does not come from regulatory expectations or personal gain, it comes from a genuine patient and family experience that should never have happened.
Behind every policy, audit, risk assessment, and performance report is a person. Too often, individuals rely on others to understand their needs, communicate their concerns, and advocate on their behalf.
Clinical governance should be the cornerstone of health and social care system design. When it is not, services can gradually drift away from the needs of service users, creating a gap between what is delivered and the outcomes that matter most.
Therefore, my goal is clear, to support organisations to build environments where effective leadership, quality and safety culture, organisational data and person-centred care are embedded in everyday practice, creating better experiences for both service-users and the staff who support them.
